![]() I'm talking in specific comparison to Cubase 8 vs S1 v3, Cubase 7 or 7.5 doesn't count, that's long gone, Cubase 8 was a total overhaul so that's what i'm interested so hear about in a comparison with S1 v3.Ĭubase's "midi interfaces" (like all 5-6 of it's discreet midi editors?) are far and away more powerful. Does anyone own both and which was the bigger pain-in-the-ass to learn and navigate, do you think Cubase 8 is easier overall or S1 v3. Not wanting to hear someone tell me they have used S1 for a long time and it's easy, of course it is easy if you've been using it for a long time, but what about S1 v3 starting from scratch with no knowledge of it, would some here say it is dead-easy to learn from scratch? Not from a long time users point of view, but from a beginners point-of-view. I don't give a crap about features, to me it's all hype, they can all do more than we need, i just wish to know which is the 'easiest' and 'simplest' and most elegant to work with, the general navigation and most of all intuitiveness without a learning-curve. I just want to know which has the better interface. I don't care at all about the midi side of things, because all DAWs can get the job done easily. As a long time former Cubase user it's very apparent to me (from reading some of the discussions) that even some Cubase owners aren't fully aware of the true depth of it's midi features, There's no real need for anyone to be defensive about that clear truth, it just is what it is. For midi there's no real "versus" contest to be had. That is to say "versus" between the two, imo, is only legitimate for audio work and UI and general workflow, where S1 compares very, very well. there are musicians and producers out there who couldn't care less about midi and never sequence anything, Of course, not everybody actually needs that and zillions of people make great music without any of it. I'm one of the biggest Studio One supporters out there but the reality is that for people who need what Cubase offers to be comfortable on the midi front, there's no real comparison, when taken in their totalities, for midi. It really depends on what you need and/or are comfortable with. Cubase's midi, even in the version I own, 5.5, is really on a different level from Studio One.

It's available for Mac, Windows, Linux, and Solaris too. VirtualBox is available to download online. Otherwise, pay for a copy of Parallels 15 or VMware Fusion 11.5. If you're an IT professional or someone with the time to play around with open-source software, by all means, consider VirtualBox. Unfortunately, VirtualBox doesn't provide technical support because it's open-source, although there's an active user forum.īut again, it's important to circle back around to VirtualBox's interface, which isn't nearly as slick or easy to use as the others. Another advantage: Oracle has released VirtualBox as open-source, which offers more flexibility to end-users than the other solutions. Perhaps the most crucial reason to consider VirtualBox is that it's free, at least for personal or educational use. Despite this, some essential differences between it and Parallels and VMware Fusion might make it a better solution, depending on your situation. Unfortunately, Oracle's VirtualBox is the least polished virtualization title on this list. When using software, I expect a polished experienced. Fusion is probably the one for you if you're familiar with VMWare products. Who this is for: VMWare's Fusion 12 is nearly as good as Parallels 17. If you're familiar with other VMWare products, including Workstation Pro for Windows, Fusion is probably the path for you, although check out both products if you can.įusion 12 is available for download from the VMWare website. The VMWare Fusion interface doesn't look nearly as nice as the one offered by Parallels, but it's close. All versions come with a 14-day free trial. A professional version is also available for IT environments. It also supports Touch Bar on a MacPro Pro.įusion 12 is available for $149 for a full version and $79 for an update. Beginning with Fusion 11, support was added for Apple's Metal graphics system. With Fusion's unity mode, you can run Windows-based applications on your computer as if they were Mac apps. ![]() ![]() In this case, you can use Fusion with Windows 11 (or another operating system) through a window on your Mac desktop or in full-screen mode. Like Parallels, Fusion lets you create a virtual machine through software that can run separately from your macOS installation. Created by Dell Computer's VMWare, the latest version of Fusion (12) has been designed to take advantage of the latest macOS tools. Parallel's closest virtualization competitor, Fusion, is another great choice for consumers. Grab a copy if you're looking for a solution that just works. Who this is for: Parallel offers a no-nonsense approach to virtualization. New versions of Parallels typically arrive when Apple releases a new version of macOS, usually in the fall. Once a new version gets released, you can download it from the Parallels website. The professional version does include free upgrades. The former doesn't include free updates to future versions of Parallels Desktop but also has no expiration date. The home version is $80 or $50 for an upgrade, while the professional version is $100 per year. Parallels Desktop 17 is the company's flagship consumer product and is available through a free trial, regardless of the version you choose. It also works with macOS Big Sur 11.1 or newer, macOS Catalina 10.15.7 or newer, macOS Mojave 10.14.6 or newer, and macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 or newer. Beyond this, Parallels Desktop 17 is also fully compatible and optimized for macOS Monterey. Added to that, TeamViewer setting up is relatively simple with equally simple configuration. It provides added options of file transfer, instant messaging and being able to manage servers remotely. It allows me to connect to contacts globally and provides a host of additional sevices, for e.g monitoring my entire teams desktop and allows recording the sessions remotely. In the aviation industry, security is paramount and TeamViewer meets that requirement. TeamViewer has been a secure platform to use, with the RSA key exchange and encryption. No, TeamViewer will not be suitable for my team as for now, but i always willing to relook at it, once the TeamViewer lads get the necessary done! PROS Its all about keeping the customer satisfied in an ever increasing, competitive business environment. Their are some aspects of TeamViewer that i compliment their team on and other aspects which need to be looked at closely and ensure that those aspects are improved moving forward, with the focus on rectifying these issues soonest. The jury is still out on this one! I would say that my experience has been a bit of an" up and down" one. Occasionally, you may not be able to connect from the start, or if you think it has hardened during use, the connection may disconnect, so check. Also, the connection is difficult to interrupt and there is no delay in reaction, so you can use it comfortably. If only the ID and password are provided over the phone, you can connect immediately and it is easier to use than other software. I use it to teach people outside the company how to operate a computer. It is now possible to connect from inside the company to outside the company, and it is now possible to explain outsiders sharing the computer screen. Before I could connect from an external computer to an internal computer through a VPN connection, but I could not do the reverse pattern. It became a means to connect from the inside to the outside, the problems that could be solved, the concrete effects, and the outside. It increases work efficiency when dealing with PC problems. From there, the popularity of games varies by region, with Guilty Gear -Strive- receiving the second-highest number of entrants from countries like the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan. Regional PreferencesĪs expected, Street Fighter 6 is the most entered game across the board for every country. Japan will see the third-most representation after the United States and Canada, with 172 Japanese players making the trip to Las Vegas. The majority are from North America, with 8,145 players registered from the United States, 320 from Canada, and 86 from Mexico. In total, players from 71 different countries will be competing at Evo 2023, up from 60 last year. Street Fighter 6 has the highest percentage of single-game entrants at 44.2%, followed by TEKKEN 7 at 38.5% and Mortal Kombat 11 at 30.5%. ![]() The average number of games entered per player across all titles is 2.3, with the most common pairings being a combination of Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear -Strive-, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Meanwhile, TEKKEN 7 receives the lowest amount of crossover with SF6 at 54.3%. For every other main title, at least 50% of registrants also signed up for Street Fighter 6, with The King of Fighters XV seeing the most crossover at 82.4%. To put the size of Evo 2023’s Street Fighter 6 bracket into perspective-if you only count the 44.2% of players who entered SF6 as their sole game, it would still be the largest event by far with 3,121 entrants. Finally, MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA claims the seventh spot on the leaderboard and becomes the fourth game at Evo 2023 to set an all-time franchise registration record with 554 players signed up. In fifth place, DRAGON BALL FighterZ also sees an increase in registrations compared to last year, going from 635 players at Evo 2022 to 838 players for Evo 2023. Growing Popularity for DRAGON BALL FighterZ Against all odds, UMvC3 finishes with 1,346 entrants, setting a new franchise registration record over a decade after the game’s release. Finally, claiming the fourth Sunday finals slot in the arena is our first Evo Throwback tournament: Ultimate Marvel vs. Next up is TEKKEN 7, which sees an increase of 362 entrants compared to last year’s 1,218. Guilty Gear -Strive- takes second place on the final leaderboard, achieving a new franchise peak for Guilty Gear titles at Evo with 2,481 competitors. Over three-quarters of these competitors are contributing to Street Fighter 6’s record-breaking Evo debut, coming in at 7,061 entrants in total. In total, Evo 2023 will see 9,182 unique players compete across the event’s eight main titles, an 81.8% increase from Evo 2022’s 5,052 entrants. With that said, let’s take a closer look at some of the statistics behind the registration numbers for the tournament. Now that the numbers are finalized, we can confirm that Evo 2023 will officially have the most bracket competitors ever at an Evo event. Several other games followed suit, setting new franchise registration records in the final days of sign-ups. Two weeks ago, the event’s Street Fighter 6 bracket became the largest open-bracket fighting game tournament in Evo history, surpassing the record of 5,107 previously held by Street Fighter V’s debut at Evo 2016. Make a checklist of everything you want to experience, and be sure to visit the various sections of the convention center accordingly.Įxpectations were shattered last Sunday night as competitor registration for Evo 2023 came to a close. The Main Stage will feature exciting world premieres, industry panels, exhibitions, and more. Decide whether you want to focus on playing as many games as possible, attending industry and community panels, or exploring the vendor area and artist alley. Once you’re at Evo 2023, having clear goals will guide your choices during the event. Many hotels near Mandalay Bay offer convenient walkways to the convention center, ensuring a hassle-free commute. For those flying into Las Vegas, familiarize yourself with transportation options to and from the airport. If you’re driving, research local traffic conditions and possible construction zones. Planning your travel in advance can help avoid any unwanted surprises. Additionally, don’t forget essential items like hand sanitizer, a jacket, and comfortable walking shoes to ensure you’re well-prepared for the Las Vegas adventure. Remember to bring your own controller, charging cables, and a portable power bank to keep your devices charged throughout the event. Consider your plans for the event, whether you’ll be competing in tournaments, enjoying casual setups, or exploring the local festivities.
